BCCI to conduct the remainder of IPL 2021 in September-October in UAE. This decision was taken by The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Saturday during a special general body meeting held virtually.

VIVO IPL 2021 which is the fourteenth edition of the IPL was recently suspended on 4 May because of the pandemic Covid-19 second wave. Now it will resume from the third week of September in UAE, United Arab Emirates.

“BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India) announced plans to complete the remaining matches of the VIVO IPL (Indian Premier League) 2021 season in the UAE (United Arab Emirates).

The office bearers h the general body about the issue of availability of players.

“The BCCI is pretty clear that even if there is a case of unavailability of English players due to their series against Pakistan, we are not going to pleas to any of the boards about releasing their players.

After the meeting, the BCCI in a press release said: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year.”

The IPL 2021 which commenced on the 9th of April, was postponed on 4th May due to the 3rd layer of Covid-19 when multiple players and staff tested positive for Corona.

In a media release on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI said the decision to shift the IPL 2021 to the UAE United Arab Emirates was owing to the monsoon weather in India. This decision was taken during a virtual Special General Meeting where members unanimously were agreeing to resume the tournament.

The 2020 IPL was also held in the UAE last year in October and November after it was rescheduled from the home country in the April-May cycle due to the first wave of Covid-19 infected in India and the country lockdown. The Board of Control for Cricket BCCI also demanding to “seek an extension” from the International Cricket Council “to take an appropriate call” on hosting the T20 World Cup 2021, originally scheduled in India b/w mid of October and 14th of November.

The tournament will be resuming on the 19th of September in Dubai with a nail-biting match defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and 3 times champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Dubai on 19th of September.
